This hardware kit contains four lag bolts. Use these for attaching the baseplate to wood or similar materials. Although available at most hardware stores they are listed here for your convince. You will need to order two if you are getting a two post rail and three for a three post rail. If your wood planking/steps are too thin back it underneath with thicker wood. We recommend backing for any wood less thick than a conventional 2x.
